If you're tired of the same old thing coming out of your speakers, I've got the remedy. There is a West Coast act named The Warhorse that is making unconventional synth music that dances with brilliance. With a brand new maxi-single for the song "Bone Apple Tea," this is a perfect time to upgrade your playlist, get out of wading pool, and dive into the complex deep end of the water.
There's absolutely no one...and I mean NO ONE out there making music like The Warhorse. This is equal parts scary and exciting. If you've been a traditional synthwave fan and that's been your only experience with this type of music, honestly, "Bone Apple Tea" might challenge you. And you know what? Good. It's healthy to challenge your senses, push yourself out of your safety zone, and celebrate artists like The Warhorse who don't see boundaries. It's a bravery that few artists have the guts to follow...no matter the music scene. Hats off!
I love the maxi-single format. Not very many artists are using this as a vehicle for their new tracks anymore, and it adds a nice nostalgic touch to the release. You get the lead single, some pretty great b-sides, remixes of "Bone Apple Tea" by Occams Laser and FacexHugger (gasp!), and other goodies, like acoustic and instrumental versions to round things out. In short, you're getting a whole lot of bang for your buck. There's a gatefold physical edition cd, and I don't know if you've ever ordered from KillxAllxMusic before, but they are the BEST at filling that envelope with extra stickers, flyers, and random things like "thank you" notes written on Dominoes napkins. Buy it HERE! It's less than $5.00, which is an insanely good deal.
