Echosynthetic has been one of the premier synthwave blogs covering the scene and culture from the ground floor up. From album interviews, to a documentary on the scene and their own annual festival, the Echosynthetic brand has become as synonymous with the genre as the synthesizers used to create the music.
Dark Roads Ahead
However, back in late 2018 the brand almost fell apart due the coward acts of cyber terrorists. Whether the attacks were intended as a digital "random act of violence" or the intentional target of a unintentionally scorned producer, they persisted and pushed the brand's founder James Mitchell to the point of wanting to abandon the project altogether.
After a brief hiatus due to the attacks and an inspiration post from renowned synth pop artist Michael Oakley, James decided to pursue the brand one again and pick up where he left off. With the support of his friends, family and the entire synthwave community, brighter days were ahead. Weren't they?
Shortly after a soft relaunch, the cyber attacks started happening again. Threatening letters, the acknowledgement of personal information pushed the founder further away from the scene. The thoughts of closing up came back even stronger.
Strength in Numbers
Nightride.FM couldn't stand idle and watch a forefather of this wonderful scene leave under duress. Wasting little time, a partnership was proposed that would allow the Echosynthetic to join forces with NightRide.FM.
We are excited, thrilled and honored to announce the official partnership with Echosynthetic! With the combined experience of the two brands and a team behind both efforts, bigger and better things are in store for both and the entire synthwave scene.
